The bulk insulation blanket is manufactured by spinning molten glass, into fine wool-like fibres which are bonded together using plant-based binders. Bradford Anticon blanket is adhered to Light Duty, Medium Duty or Heavy Duty reflective foil laminate facing (see table below for product specifications). This product is designed for the Australian climate, to control temperatures in homes with metal roofs and reduce external noise such as rain, wind, aircraft etc.

Applications of Anticon Insulation

Anticon insulation is recommended for use in residential housing with metal clad roofs, in commercial and industrial buildings with metal clad and fibre cement roofs and can be installed under concrete slabs in carparks. Bradford Anticon is designed to insulate and control temperatures within a building and reduce reverberated noise. The reflective foil facing extends 150mm beyond one longitudinal edge of the glasswool blanket to enable it to be properly sealed and prevent thermal bridging.

Bradford Anticon Insulation Installation

Anticon is installed with the reflective foil side facing downwards and the glasswool blanket facing upwards. There are three ways in which Anticon insulation can be installed. The first method is to install the insulation by rolling it vertically out over the battens, this is the preferred method as it allows roof cladding material to be installed at the same time. The second method is to roll Anticon insulation horizontally out over the battens and the last method is to roll it horizontally under the battens.
