Step by step

Summarised from the pro clima CONTEGA PV, Installation instructions (Australia, Version 99817 dated 23 Oct 2026). Work from the full guide: it has the drawings and every detail. Open the full guide (PDF)

1Prepare the surface
  • Brush or wipe the substrate clean so it is even and smooth enough for a clean connection.
  • Keep surfaces free of grease, silicone and other water repellent substances.
2Stick the tape to the membrane
  • Stick CONTEGA PV onto the membrane with its self-adhesive strips and rub firmly with the PRESSFIX tool to secure the bond.
  • Fold the tape back and fix it to the wall with ORCON F at discrete points about 10 to 20 cm apart, leaving slack for movement between components.
  • On soft masonry such as aerated concrete, pumice or cavity blocks, nails can be driven into the stone; on hard stone, drive them into the masonry joints.
  • If necessary, cut back the vapour control membrane so the CONTEGA fleece can be plastered in place.
3Or stick the tape to the wall first
  • Fix the tape to the wall with adhesive at discrete points, with its self-adhesive strip facing into the room.
  • Guide the vapour control membrane into position, remove the release film from CONTEGA PV and stick the membrane to the tape.
  • Rub firmly with the PRESSFIX tool with enough resistance pressure, and allow slack for expansion.
4Plaster the fleece in place
  • Plaster behind the tape first, then lay the tape into the wet plaster and plaster over it fully, so CONTEGA PV sits in the middle of the plaster layer.
  • The plaster must cover at least 1 cm of the white, airtight fleece to make an airtight joint.
  • Gypsum plasters adhere very well to the fleece; use a bonding bridge (reinforcing mortar) with calciferous plaster.
5Keep the joint free of strain
  • Do not subject the bond to tensile strain over time, and transfer any load to the substrate or other supporting materials.
  • CONTEGA PV is made for building interiors; detail it so it is not in direct sunlight in service.
