Insulation Rolls

Insulation rolls can be installed in roofs and underfloors to reduce the amount of heat entering and leaving the home. Roof insulation rolls are backed with a foil-facing and installed under metal roofs. Underfloor insulation rolls can often be installed as an alternative to insulation batts.

Insulation Roll Applications

Insulation rolls can be used for a top up layer in ceilings and for walls. When insulating your roof start by laying out insulation at the outer edges of the ceiling space and roll in towards the middle of roof and the manhole access panel. Use the long roll on larger areas and any of-cuts in smaller spaces.

At 450mm or 600mm wide, Knauf Earthwool Acoustic rolls are well suited to installation between metal framed partition walls, and less suited for timber framed walls. (If installing Knauf Earthwool Insulation rolls in an ordinary residential home timber framed wall, you'll most likely need to trim off 2 - 3 cm along the entire length of the roll prior to installation). For installation in walls, start at the top of the wall, hang the insulation down and push it into place between the vertical exposed studs, then cut to the required length.
