Bradford Enviroseal Aero Residential Insulation (RW) - Light Duty

Bradford Enviroseal Aero RW is a light duty vapour permeable wall wrap designed for use in residential timber and steel frame wall construction. Enviroseal Aero residential wall wrap is a durable and lightweight textile membrane with a ‘soft’ construction designed to allow moisture to escape the inside of the home.
  • A tough weather barrier
  • Minimise the risk of condensation related mould growth
  • Suitable behind both brick veneer and all lightweight clad
  • Suitable for BAL fire regions

Benefits of Bradford Enviroseal Aero Insulation

Bradford Enviroseal Aero is ideal for use in residential brick veneer and lightweight clad construction. Enviroseal are additional layers of protection that shield your home from water-related weather damage, mould or rot, and minimise hot & cold draughts blowing through the home. Wall wraps can also provide an extra level of comfort to your home by keeping it warmer in winter or cooler in summer, and prevent wall stains and decay from moisture build up. Bradford Enviroseal Aero Insulation helps to keep the home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. This product helps to reduce the airflow around insulation and makes it work more effectively. Bradford Wall Wraps act as an added layer of protection around your home, that defend your internal wall from weather-related water damage. During heavy rain, strong winds or hail, water can enter the wall cavity leading to serious unseen damage. Bradford Enviroseal vapour permeable wall wraps allow moisture to escape the inside of the home. This reduces the risk of condensation build-up and mould growth in the timber frame. If too much moisture builds in the home it can even visibly stain plasterboard. Bradford Enviroseal™ vapour permeable wraps can minimise the risk of condensation inside the wall that can lead to damaging mould growth. It allows water vapour to safely pass through, and condense on the outside of the wall.

Step by step

Summarised from the Bradford Wall Wrap Installation Guidance, Class 1 Residential Timber and Metal Frames, Installation Guide (Revision Level A). Work from the full guide: it has the drawings and every detail. Open the full guide (PDF)

1Orient and roll the wrap
  • Install the printed, non-reflective or antiglare surface facing outward.
  • Apply the wrap to a stud and roll it around the wall frame horizontally.
2Lap corners and new rolls
  • Extend the wrap 150 mm around each corner.
  • Overlap each new horizontal roll on the previous roll by 150 mm.
3Fix to the frame
  • On timber frames, fix with galvanised staples or metal fixings every 150 mm, lining up overlaps and end joints with a wall stud where possible.
  • On metal frames, fix with adhesive where cladding is fixed directly to the stud work, or with broad headed washer mechanical fixings at 300 mm centres for cavity walls.
4Lap and seal the layers
  • Overlap the top layer of wrap on the bottom layer by 150 mm.
  • Seal and tape all overlaps to create an air or vapour barrier.
  • When using the wrap as an air barrier, provide mechanical ventilation to the building as recommended.
5Repair damage and flash windows
  • Repair or replace all damaged, punctured or torn material to keep the product's original properties.
  • Install windows in accordance with AS/NZS 4200.2 or the window manufacturer's guidance.
  • If windows are already installed, flash them in accordance with the window manufacturer's instructions.
6Clad without delay
  • Install the exterior cladding without delay, as wall wrap is a secondary sarking material not designed for prolonged direct exposure.
  • If the wrap has been exposed to harsh weather for more than 6 weeks, inspect it before cladding and repair or replace damaged product to comply with the product warranty.

Install in accordance with AS/NZS 4200.2:2017 Pliable Building Membranes and Underlays, Installation.
