An R2.0 thermal insulation in the outside walls is usually more than adequate in most Australian capital cities and major regional centres. For cooler climates such as Canberra, we recommend considering increasing the R-Value in the walls to an R2.5, or even R2.7, in particular if outdoor sound such as traffic noise is likely to be an issue.
Knauf Earthwool Thermal Wall Insulation Batts are the perfect choice for DIY home owners who want to save money on power bills and maintain a more stable indoor temperature. Knauf’s wall batts are increasingly popular due to their easy delivery and installation. They are available in thicknesses to suit 75mm, 90mm and 140mm timber and metal frames.
