Bradford Polymax™ Polyester Thermal and Acoustic Wall Insulation by CSR Bradford
Bradford Polymax thermal insulation is designed to maximise comfort and lower energy bills. Bradford Polymax helps to reduce heat transfers through the walls, ceiling and floor or residential and commercial buildings and offices. In an uninsulated home, as much as 25% of your heat can be lost through the walls alone in winter, while in summer heat can flow into your home making it uncomfortably hot. All this results in higher energy bills from running your heating and cooling systems longer.
Polymax vs Glasswool Insulation
Polymax is made from 100% polyester and is very different to other Bradford products such as the Gold Batts, Optimo Underfloor and Soundscreen which are made from fibreglass. A key difference between glasswool and polyester is that polyester insulation contains no breathable fibres and is soft and easy to handle. Unlike glasswool which is cut with a knife, polyester insulation is often torn to size. Polyester is the preferred solution for allergy sufferers, although it comes at a much higher cost. Polymax is more expensive to manufacture and bulkier to transport, especially to regional areas in Australia. Check out our delivery information page for the latest prices.
100% Reusable Polyester Insulation
Bradford Polymax is made from the same material as used in pillow and doonas, is low allergen and produces no VOC emissions. Polymax Insulation is 100% reusable making it a great environmental choice. The polyester fibres are made from up to 80% recycled content from post-consumer (PET) packaging such as empty drink bottles. No chemicals or resin binders are used in the manufacturing process.

Maximise the Energy Efficiency of Your Home
To improve the energy efficiency of your home we recommend installing insulation in your external walls, internal walls, between levels in a double storey house, under the floor and around the pipes (known as pipe-lagging). The rising cost of energy means that many DIY builders are opting for higher R-values than those specified on their energy report. The effectiveness of insulation is measured by the R-value not the thickness. The higher the R-value, the better the thermal performance of the insulation. Bradford Polymax Thermal Wall Batts are available in R1.5, R2.0 and R2.5 and are designed to fit within the standard 90mm joists of Australian homes. To maximise the effectiveness of your insulation we recommend a holistic design approach. Passive design techniques such as shading, building orientation and double glazed windows will also help to improve comfort and reduce heat loss and gains.
